Angel Smith isn’t here for the noise—and she’s making that very clear.
After a video of the former Big Brother Naija housemate hugging a female friend went viral, whispers started flying about her sexuality. Some viewers jumped to conclusions, but Angel? She’s completely unfazed.
Taking to social media, she pointed out what really doesn’t sit right with her: how the world often overlooks serious issues, yet gets caught up in assumptions about who she’s close to.
“Imagine stressing over my personal life while real dangers go unchecked,” she wrote, calling out the double standard.
Angel didn’t shy away from the conversation. In fact, she leaned into it, reminding everyone that she’s grown, in charge of her own life, and doesn’t owe anyone explanations. “This is my reality. I shared that video because I wanted to—not because anyone caught me slipping,” she said.
She also made it clear where she stands on the matter: “I’m not homophobic. Just because you don’t agree with something doesn’t make it universally wrong.”
And with a final swipe at the critics, Angel dropped a little reminder that opinions come and go. “One day we’ll all be gone, and your judgments? Just background noise in the wind.”
In other words: Angel’s living her truth—and she’s not losing sleep over anyone else’s version of it.
