Anthony Joshua, the Nigerian-born British heavyweight boxer, recently shared how advice from football legend Cristiano Ronaldo positively influenced his career.
Joshua revealed the chance meeting with Ronaldo happened in Riyadh, where he had just won a high-profile fight against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. After the match, Joshua had the opportunity to chat with Ronaldo, who attended the bout.
In a conversation with TNT Sports, Joshua detailed how Ronaldo gave him some valuable tips on diet and training, explaining how the advice helped him in surprising ways. One key takeaway was Ronaldo’s disciplined approach to staying healthy, which Joshua found impactful.
Joshua proudly noted that after adopting some of Ronaldo’s suggestions, he managed to get a full seven hours of sleep, something he said had a significant effect on his performance and recovery. “Look at that, I got seven hours’ sleep after following some of his recommendations,” Joshua shared, clearly impressed by the results.
As he prepares for his upcoming all-Brit showdown with Daniel Dubois at Wembley on Saturday, September 21, for the IBF World Heavyweight title, Joshua is embracing the new changes in his routine.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo, despite being 39, continues to thrive in the world of football, currently playing for Al Nassr in the fast-growing Saudi Pro League after an illustrious career with clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.
