APC Closes National Secretariat to Honour Late President Buhari
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has temporarily shut down operations at its national secretariat in Abuja to mourn the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023 and earlier served as military Head of State from 1983 to 1985, died in London on Sunday, July 13, following a prolonged illness. His burial is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
In an official statement released on Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka, announced that the secretariat would remain closed from July 14 to July 17, 2025.
“As directed by our acting National Chairman, Hon. Bukar Dalori, the party headquarters will observe this period of mourning and resume operations on Thursday,” the statement read.
The APC urged its members and Nigerians across the country to honour the memory of the late president with solemn reflection and prayer.
“We encourage all party faithful to take this time for quiet contemplation and to offer prayers for the peaceful repose of our departed leader,” Morka added.
The party joins citizens nationwide in paying tribute to Buhari’s legacy and his contributions to the country’s political journey.
