The final funeral ceremony of the Ex Ghanaian football star Christian Atsu will be held at the forecourt of the state house in Accra on March 17, 2023.
The date for the final rites was announced during the ongoing one-week celebration at Accra’s Adjiringanor Astro Turf.
Meanwhile, Mustapha Yussif, Minister of Youth and Sports, has assured the government that the late Ghanaian footballer will be given a proper funeral.
“The government has covered the entire cost of the one-week celebration. A state funeral will be held. Because of the late footballer’s contribution to Ghanaian football, the government will bear the cost of that as well.
“Aside from that, the manner in which our brother died was heartbreaking, and now is the time for us all to come together to give him a fitting funeral.”
Also former minister of trade now aspiring presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen donated an amount to the late Christian Atsu’s family.
