Nigerian music star Omoniyi Temidayo, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has shared how fatherhood transformed his outlook on life.
Speaking on the Is This A Safe Space? podcast, the “Zanku” hitmaker revealed that becoming a father at 25 made him realize how serious life had become — a stage he admitted he wasn’t fully prepared for.
Zlatan explained that the birth of his son brought new financial responsibilities that initially overwhelmed him. Living in London at the time, he said there were moments he feared he wouldn’t be able to meet the growing expenses that came with raising a child.
Reflecting on that period, the rapper confessed that fatherhood made him rethink his past decisions and adjust his lifestyle.
“The birth of my son changed me,” he said. “It made me see life differently. I had to start paying rent in London at 25, and I was scared I might not be able to keep up. People were saying I wouldn’t last in the industry for more than three years. That pushed me to take my finances seriously — I cut down on spending and started saving for diapers.”
Zlatan’s story is one of growth, responsibility, and the sobering realization that parenthood changes everything — even for a star used to living life on his own terms.
