Gucci Mane expressed his sorrow over the loss of his protege on Instagram. He said in the description of a slideshow of pictures, “This hurt—I’m a miss you @bigscarr.”
Following his passing, a statement was issued by 1017 Records’ parent company, Scarr’s label Atlantic Records.
“Our hearts are tremendously burdened by the loss of Big Scarr. The label tweeted, “Scarr was such a lovely, kind person; a big kid at heart. Key Glock also seemed to respond to the devastating news.
The passing of Big Scarr weighs incredibly heavy on our hearts. Scarr was such a lovable, warm person; a big kid at heart.

The upcoming MC, who was a member of the XXL Freshman Class this year, has worked with musicians like Offset and Pooh Shiesty. Scarr released his debut mixtape, Big Grim Reaper, in April 2021 after making an appearance on the 1017 collection So Icy Gang, Vol. 1. This mixtape featured songs like “SolcyBoyz” and “Poppin.”
Scarr was shot in the hip in the year 2020, and the bullet went all the way up to his spine. His injuries required medical professionals to remove his appendix and straighten his right leg.
Alexander Woods, who was given the name “Scarr” when he was 16 years old and permanently scarred from a car accident after being thrown through a friend’s windshield, was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 7, 2000.
