The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced that businesswoman Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu is wanted in connection with alleged money laundering and investment fraud.
In a statement issued on Friday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale called on the public to assist with any information that could help locate Ms. Achimugu.
The statement read:
“The public is hereby notified that Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the EFCC in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.”
Reports suggest that Ms. Achimugu is associated with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Earlier this year, Governor Sanwo-Olu reportedly attended her 50th birthday celebration in Grenada, traveling on a private jet and staying at a luxurious resort.
During his absence, many government officials were left uncertain about his whereabouts, with some believing he was on an official trip to London, while others stated he was abroad.
