Bruno Fernandes has made it clear he’s not going anywhere. The Manchester United captain has reportedly shut down renewed interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, choosing to stay committed to the club’s rebuilding journey under new leadership.
According to reports, both Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad approached Fernandes again this season after failing to lure him away last summer with massive offers. But the Portuguese playmaker isn’t swayed — his focus remains on leading United back to the top of European football.
Sources close to the midfielder revealed that he’s fully dedicated to Manchester United and has no plans to leave after next summer’s World Cup. “He’s not considering any move to Saudi Arabia,” one insider said. “His mind is set on helping United achieve their goals.”
Under contract until 2027, with an option for another year, Fernandes continues to be a driving force at Old Trafford. Manager Ruben Amorim has recently experimented with using him in a deeper midfield position, allowing him to control the tempo and link play more effectively. While some argue that this limits his scoring opportunities, his influence on the pitch remains undeniable.
Last month, Fernandes hit a major milestone — scoring his 100th goal for Manchester United in a victory over Chelsea, which also marked his 200th Premier League appearance. In total, he’s featured 298 times across all competitions since joining the club.
Following that game, Amorim hailed his captain’s leadership:
“He deserves all the praise. Bruno is part of this club’s history — not just for what he achieves individually, but for what he helps the team accomplish.”
With Sir Jim Ratcliffe guiding United’s long-term rebuild, Fernandes stands as a cornerstone of the project. The midfielder remains optimistic about the season ahead, confident that a top-five finish — and a potential Champions League return — is well within reach.
For Bruno Fernandes, the message is simple: his heart and ambition are still at Old Trafford.
