The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), will attend the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries on Saturday in Doha, Qatar’s capital city.
According to the President’s spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, the development came as a result of an invitation from Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The conference, which takes place from March 5 to 9, with the theme “From Potential to Prosperity,” occurs just once per decade.
It provides a chance to gain international assistance for accelerating sustainable development in LDCs and assisting them in making progress toward prosperity.
According to Shehu, Buhari will reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to assisting the most vulnerable countries in meeting their development problems while in Doha.

According to the presidential adviser, the president would also highlight areas where the Nigerian government has provided them with various sorts of help throughout time.
“As most of these countries struggle to find long-term solutions to difficulties such as poverty, the harmful consequences of climate change, food and energy crises, and large debt burdens, among others,” he said.
World leaders, the private sector, civil society, and youth organizations will all attend the summit.
It strives to promote developmental ideas and mobilize political will, solidarity, action, and solutions to transform LDCs by addressing the concerns of poverty, food insecurity, hunger, and inadequate or non-existent infrastructure.
The conference will also discuss issues such as inadequate health facilities and climate change as they strive to meet the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
The President’s team will comprise ministers and key government officials who will utilize the visit to sign agreements and Memorandums of Understanding with the Qatari government.
Nigeria’s president is set to return to the country on Monday.
