In his first engagement since winning the election, Bola Tinubu, the incoming president of Nigeria, paid a visit to outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday evening.
According to a presidential aide, Mr. Tinubu “personally thanked the president for his efforts and commitment to ensure a free, fair, and credible election”.
Vice-President-elect Kashim Shettima traveled with the incoming president during the visit.
The two men were referred to as “two men who are true believers in Nigeria and genuinely committed to progress and development” by President Buhari in a tweet.
