Burna Boy Makes History with 2 Billion Streams in the UK
In a remarkable achievement, Burna Boy, the self-proclaimed African Giant, has become the first African artist to surpass 2 billion streams in the United Kingdom.
The Grammy winner was honored with a prestigious plaque backstage at his sold-out concert in Koko Camden, London, celebrating the fifth anniversary of his 2019 album, African Giant. This milestone is especially meaningful, as Burna Boy’s international fame soared with the hit single “Ye” from this award-winning album.
This honor comes shortly after his sold-out concert at London Stadium, where he received a plaque for reaching 1 billion streams just a month ago.

One of the presenters remarked, “You already have it. You don’t need to fight.” Burna Boy reaffirmed, “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”
