In Tripoli, Cape Verde produced a thrilling comeback to draw 3–3 with Libya, keeping their hopes of a first-ever World Cup appearance alive.
After an early own goal from Roberto Lopes and two more from Libya’s Ezoo el Mariamy and Mahmoud al Shalwi, Cape Verde rallied back with strikes from Telmo Arcanjo, Sidny Cabral, and Willy Semedo, who equalised in the 82nd minute.
The result keeps Cape Verde two points clear of Cameroon at the top of Group D, and a win against Eswatini on Monday would guarantee qualification.
