Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, attributes the team’s victory over Borussia Dortmund in the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League final to the club’s rich tradition and team spirit.
During the final held at Wembley Stadium on June 1, Real Madrid struggled in the first half as Borussia Dortmund dominated with several goal-scoring opportunities but failed to convert them. The first half ended scoreless.
However, Real Madrid came out strong in the second half, and Dortmund couldn’t keep up, especially after the one-hour mark. Goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr. secured Real Madrid’s record-extending 15th Champions League title.
After the match, Ancelotti told TNT Sports that the victory was due to the team’s unity and lack of egoistic players. “It is the history and tradition of the club, of course, the quality of the players. The club is a family; we work together without problems, and the atmosphere in the dressing room is really good,” Ancelotti said.
He also expressed gratitude to the club and players, highlighting their humility and teamwork. “I need to thank the club and the players. No big egos, really humble. It was not difficult to manage the squad this season,” he added.
