Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has expressed his desire to retire from the club but hasn’t specified when that will be. Ancelotti, who began his coaching career in 1992 as an assistant for Italy’s national team, has an extensive and successful resume.
Throughout his career, Ancelotti has managed top clubs across Europe, including Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich. The 64-year-old has an impressive record, being the only manager to have won league titles in all five of Europe’s top leagues: La Liga, the Premier League, the Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1.
Ancelotti is also one of the most decorated managers in UEFA Champions League history, having won the prestigious trophy four times—twice with AC Milan and twice with Real Madrid. He is on the brink of potentially securing his fifth Champions League title, as he prepares to lead Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund in the final on June 1.
Having spent a total of five years at Real Madrid, Ancelotti renewed his contract earlier this season, which now runs until the end of the 2024-2025 season. In a recent interview with Repubblica, he expressed his commitment to the club and his intention to conclude his coaching career there.
“I will retire as Real Madrid manager. My career will finish at Real Madrid,” Ancelotti stated. “As long as Real Madrid wants me to stay, I will be here available for the club.”
