Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has opened up about his approach to criticism, embracing it as a driving force to improve his game. The forward, who joined the club from Villarreal in 2023, has faced his share of challenges but remains determined to grow and excel.
Reflecting on his first season with the Blues, Jackson admitted that he encountered hurdles. However, under the guidance of manager Enzo Maresca, he has turned a new leaf in the 2024/2025 campaign. With eight goals and three assists already to his name in the Premier League, Jackson is proving his worth on the pitch.
Ahead of Chelsea’s upcoming Conference League clash with Astana, Jackson spoke about his mindset during an interview. The Senegalese international revealed his unique perspective on feedback:
“I actually enjoy when people criticize me,” he said. “Hearing the negatives pushes me to work harder. It’s something I love—it motivates me.”
Despite his current success, Jackson remains focused on self-improvement and bigger goals. “I haven’t truly made it yet,” he admitted. “For me, success means scoring consistently, hitting 20 or 30 goals a season, and winning trophies.”
With this determined attitude, Jackson continues to strive for excellence as he cements his place as a key player for Chelsea.
