Several children in Nairobi, Kenya, were rushed to the hospital after becoming unconscious due to tear gas exposure during protests. The incident occurred when police threw tear gas into their classroom, leading to a medical emergency.
Dr. Aron Shikuku, the owner of Eagle Nursing Home Hospital, provided an update, stating that they have managed to stabilize the children who have been under their care for approximately four hours.
The protests were organized by the opposition to voice concerns over the escalating cost of living in the country. Unfortunately, the demonstrations turned violent, resulting in fatalities. Two individuals reportedly lost their lives as protesters attacked a police station, while another person died during an altercation with a police van on the outskirts of Nairobi.

In light of the escalating situation and the reported incidents of police violence, Raila Odinga, the opposition leader, decided to cancel a planned rally at the Kamukunji grounds in a Nairobi suburb. He cited the safety and well-being of his supporters as the primary reason for this decision.
The ongoing protests have caused significant disruptions to transportation and businesses across the country. Some protesters have resorted to setting fires on roads while striking public transport workers have engaged in activities like football games at bus terminuses, as captured in various online videos.
