Chioma Ikokwu, widely known as Chioma Good Hair, is setting the record straight about her decision to remain unmarried—for now.
In a candid response to a follower on Snapchat who urged her to marry and have children “before it’s too late,” the entrepreneur made it clear: her relationship status is a matter of choice, not chance.
“Let’s not act like it’s 1885,” she wrote. “With all the advancements in the world today, there’s no such thing as ‘too late’ anymore.”
Chioma shared that she’s not willing to settle just to tick boxes. “I’m not jumping into marriage because everyone else is doing it—or because some people are divorcing six months later,” she said. “God’s timing is perfect. I want to do it right.”
Reflecting on her younger years, she added, “Anyone who married me before 30 would’ve regretted it. I wasn’t ready—I wanted to explore the world, build my career, and enjoy my freedom. Now, I’m fulfilled and prepared… but desperate? Absolutely not.”
Her message? Every woman’s journey is different, and there’s no deadline for living life on your own terms.
