On Tuesday, demonstrators in Colombia’s capital, Bogota, protested bullfighting and bull running, calling on lawmakers to outlaw the practice.

Dozens of protesters gathered outside the country’s Congress in Bolivar Square, including eight half-naked demonstrators painted in fake blood while wearing only shorts and bull masks.

“We’re here to scream in unison that Colombia is building peace and that peace must include animals,” protester Derly Flores said.
Protesters were joined by senator and activist Andrea Padilla, who claimed that landowners pushed for support for bullfighting.

“We frequently see people with their entrails and eyes hanging out from bull running,” Padilla said.
