Portuguese football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, shared a celebratory post on his Instagram page, marking a significant milestone in his football career.
The 39-year-old athlete scored two goals in Al Nassr’s 4-2 victory over Al-Ittihad, marking the conclusion of the club’s season in the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo’s remarkable performance resulted in him finishing the season with 35 league goals in just 31 games, setting a new record in the history of the Saudi Pro League.
This accomplishment solidifies Cristiano Ronaldo’s position as the first player in professional football history to emerge as the top goal scorer in four different leagues worldwide.
His journey to this milestone began during his tenure at Manchester United between 2003 and 2009, where he clinched his first Golden Boot with 31 goals in 34 Premier League matches during the 2007-2008 season.
Transitioning to Real Madrid, Ronaldo continued his dominance, finishing as the league’s top scorer in the 2011-2012 season with 40 goals in 34 games, and again in the 2013-2014 season with 31 goals in 30 matches.
During the 2014-2015 season, Ronaldo achieved a career-high of 48 league goals in 35 games, securing the La Liga Golden Boot for that season.
After joining Juventus, Ronaldo continued his streak, winning the Golden Boot during the 2020-2021 season with 29 goals in 33 games.
Following his latest achievement in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo expressed his gratitude on Instagram, stating: “Proud to make history as the first top scorer in 4 countries 🏴 🇪🇸 🇮🇹 🇸🇦 A huge thank you to all the clubs, teammates, and staff who helped me along the way.”
