Davido Pushes Back Album Release, Drops New Single
Afrobeats star Davido has rescheduled the release of his highly anticipated fifth studio album, originally set for March 15, 2025. Fans will now have to wait until April 18 for the project to drop.
While the singer hasn’t shared a reason for the delay, anticipation continues to build, with many eager to see what he has in store.
A Big Year for Davido
Despite the album’s postponement, 2025 is already shaping up to be a major year for the Nigerian superstar. He recently earned his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards for Best African Song Performance on Chris Brown’s track Sensational.
Additionally, Davido has bagged five nominations at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards, including Artist of the Year.

Leading up to the album, Davido has kept fans engaged with fresh music. He recently released Awuke, featuring Jamaican dancehall artist YG Marley, and Funds, a collaboration with Chike and Odumodublvck.
In a social media post announcing his upcoming album 5ive, the hitmaker described it as a deeply personal project, reflecting his journey and growth.

Exciting Collaborations
The album is expected to feature Nigerian music sensation Omah Lay, who recently described their collaboration as the perfect blend of their styles. Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has also hinted at making an appearance on the project, adding to the excitement.
Following the success of his record-breaking fourth album, Timeless, all eyes are on Davido as he gears up to drop another chart-topping project.
