DC Young Fly Finds Strength and Support Amid Personal Loss
DC Young Fly, the beloved comedian, recently shared an update on his emotional well-being while leaving the Sirius XM headquarters. In an interview with TMZ, he expressed gratitude for the “great love” and positive energy he has been receiving, finding solace in the company of his friends and colleagues, Karlous Miller and Chico Bean.
The trio has been rejoicing over the release of their Netflix comedy special, titled “85 South: Ghetto Legends.”
Reflecting on his new role as the sole caretaker of his three children, Nova (6), Nala (2), and Prince Nehemiah (10 months), DC Young Fly acknowledged the challenges but credited his strength to a higher power. He spoke about his grief over the untimely passing of Jacky Oh in Miami in May, leaving his young family devastated.
While he acknowledged the emotions he has been experiencing, DC Young Fly emphasized his preference for maintaining a positive public demeanor. He stated, “We’re human, we’re emotional—people may want to see you cry, but I won’t record myself crying and show you that. I have my moments in private.”
Amidst the difficult times, DC Young Fly has been basking in the success of his Netflix special. He shared an Instagram snapshot of himself, Karlous Miller, and Chico Bean posing proudly in front of a Times Square billboard displaying their promotional material, highlighting their achievement.
Adding to his celebration, he also shared an article from Forbes, reporting that “85 South: Ghetto Legends” debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s top shows in the U.S., surpassing popular series like “Black Mirror” and the newly added legal drama “Suits.”
In an effort to inspire his followers, DC Young Fly captioned the celebratory images with words of encouragement: “You have to stay strong for your dreams and live life to the fullest!!” He included the uplifting hashtag, “#GODIsTheGreatest.”
