Ghanaian gospel artist Diana Asamoah recently made headlines after her assistant pastor was arrested for allegedly stealing GH₵4000 from her mobile money account.
In a video circulating on social media, Reverend Kwame Asante, the suspect, can be seen in handcuffs at the Tesano Police station while Asamoah narrates the incident in the background.
According to Asamoah, her assistant pastor admitted to spying on her during a transaction and discovering her mobile money PIN, which enabled him to transfer the money.
“He is the one who translates my preaching into English, reads the Bible, and sometimes handles tasks in my absence. However, this is not the first or second time; he has begged for forgiveness before,” she explained.
Gospel musician, Evangelist Diana Asamoah called the Tesano Police and had her personal assistant, who is also a pastor and normally assists her in language translation and Bible reading during her evangelical duties, arrested.

“Thanks to the grace of the Holy Spirit and the digitalization efforts led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, everything is more secure now. He confessed to seeing my secret code during a transaction and transferred GH₵4,000 for his personal use, including spending on women,” she added.
Asamoah expressed concerns for her safety, stating, “He knows where I live, and if I don’t take action, he might resort to extreme measures. He is a thief.”
As an avid supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential bid for the 2024 election, Asamoah commended Bawumia’s digitization agenda for aiding in the arrest of the suspect.
