Doja Cat always manages to keep her fans guessing. The Platinum-certified artist took to Twitter earlier this year to reveal some details about her upcoming album. She stated that her next release, Hellmouth, will depart from her pop sound in order to emphasize her rapping abilities.
However, the 27-year-old Los Angeles native added to her list of updates last night (May 9) and also shared some candid thoughts about her previous bodies of work.
“Planet Her and Hot Pink were cash grabs, and you fell for it,” she tweeted. “Now I can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while y’all weep for mediocre pop.”

She also retracted her March title announcement and replaced it with a new one. “It’s also not called Hellmouth. “It’s called First of All, and yes, I’m revealing the album title right now,” she said.
Planet Her, Doja’s widely successful debut album, was released in June 2021 and featured 14 genre-bending songs with features from Young Thug, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, JID, and SZA. The album reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 109,000 first-week album-equivalent unit sales. Just before the end of 2021, a deluxe edition of Planet Her was released, featuring five additional tracks and new collaborations with Gunna and Eve.
Since then, the “Kiss Me More” singer has remained active by delivering standout guest verses on tracks such as “SCOOP” by Lil Nas X, “I Like You (A Happier Song)” by Post Malone, “Freaky Deaky” by Tyga, “motive” by Ariana Grande, and others. In addition, she released “Vegas,” the lead single from ELVIS (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). She most recently released her remix of SZA’s “Kill Bill” from her SOS album.
