President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is rallying Ghanaians to throw their weight behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
He cautioned against voting for former President John Mahama, asserting that such a choice would undo the progress achieved under his administration and put the nation’s trajectory at risk.
Speaking to supporters during a mini rally in Doboro, Greater Accra region, after visiting Blue Skies Limited, President Akufo-Addo reiterated his endorsement of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as the preferred presidential candidate.
In his address, he emphasized the significance of the ongoing limited registration exercise, urging eligible citizens to register as it empowers them to exercise their right to vote.
Akufo-Addo stressed that he cannot hand over power to someone who doesn’t appreciate the strides made during his tenure, fearing that it would jeopardize the nation’s progress.
He urged voters to cast their ballots for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, emphasizing his trust in Bawumia’s ability to continue the work initiated during his tenure.
The Electoral Commission has commenced a nationwide limited registration exercise for individuals who have turned eighteen. The exercise commenced on May 7 and is scheduled to conclude on May 20.
