Drake Unveils Heartfelt Album Artwork Designed by His Son, Adonis.
Drake has taken a unique and sentimental approach to the artwork for his upcoming album. This time, he handed the creative reins to his 5-year-old son, Adonis.
In a recent Instagram post on Monday (Aug. 21), Drake offered his fans a sneak peek of the album cover for his new project titled “For All the Dogs.” The cover showcased a charming and childlike drawing of a dog with radiant red eyes.
The caption read, “For All the Dogs,” with an accompanying credit that read, “Cover by Adonis.”
Following the announcement, reactions poured in swiftly. Notable figures such as Tinashe, Sexyy Red, Hit-Boy, Rich the Kid, and Juelz Santana showed their appreciation through enthusiastic emojis and other reactions. In a departure from his past projects, the cover art for Drake’s upcoming album carries deep emotional significance. In contrast, his previous works, such as the renowned British artist Damien Hirst’s design for 2021’s “Certified Lover Boy” and Kadir Nelson’s art for 2013’s “Nothing Was the Same,” deviate from the emotional resonance seen in the cover of his latest project.
While promoting “For All the Dogs” on his “It’s All A Blur Tour” with 21 Savage, the Toronto native has been actively generating buzz. Special guests and hints at the album’s progress have graced his performances, and he’s even made appearances donning dog masks on his way to the venues.
During his tour’s opening show in Chicago, Drake hinted at the album’s nostalgic undertones. He expressed, “I look around at all these faces. I know it’s summertime. I gotta give you st! I don’t know about these guys that go away for three, four, five years and wanna chill out and all that st. That’s not me.”
He continued, “With that being said, I got an album coming out soon for y’all. It’s called For All the Dogs. I always hear people talking about, ‘D**n, we miss that old Drake.’” This signals an exciting shift in Drake’s musical direction and offers fans a glimpse into the artist’s evolution.
