On Thursday night, a man allegedly attempted to break into the rapper’s Los Angeles mansion. Drake’s security, according to TMZ, called the cops after seeing an unknown man leave the house carrying something.
The suspect had fled by the time cops arrived, prompting a search of the surrounding area. A man matching the suspect’s description was seen walking down the street just a few hours later.
Cops apprehended a man who was allegedly carrying an item that was stolen from Drake’s Beverly Crest home.
Drake paid $75 million for the 10-bedroom mega-mansion, which was previously owned by Robbie Williams, in an off-market transaction last year.
At the time of the incident, the rapper was not at home. He performed two shows at the Apollo Theater in New York over the weekend.
This isn’t Drake’s first encounter with an intruder. In July, a 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespassing on the same property after claiming Drake was his father and he was waiting for him to return home.
Previously, in 2017, a woman was arrested and charged with breaking into his Los Angeles home. She later sued Drake for $4 billion, claiming that he defamed her and violated her privacy by sharing personal information on Instagram, but the defamation case was dismissed.
