The Department of State Services (DSS) has expressed its support for President Bola Tinubu’s recent appointment of Adeola Ajayi as the new Director General of the agency. The agency shared its reaction in a statement by DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunaya, in Abuja on Monday.
In the statement, the DSS extended well-wishes to the outgoing Director General, Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi, and expressed its readiness to support Mr. Ajayi in his new role. The statement emphasized that the agency is committed to cooperating fully with the new DG.
Mr. Ajayi, who joined the DSS in 1990 as a cadet officer, is described as a seasoned intelligence officer with extensive experience and training in various aspects of management, security leadership, and critical thinking. He has held key command positions as State Director of Security (SDS) in Rivers, Bayelsa, Bauchi, Enugu, and Kogi States.
The DSS highlighted Mr. Ajayi’s diligence, resilience, and proactive approach, noting that he brings significant expertise and goodwill to his new role.
Earlier, President Tinubu announced Mr. Ajayi’s appointment in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
