Nollywood actress Judy Austin has shared heartfelt advice with young women, urging them not to rush into marriage until they are fully prepared — both mentally and emotionally. Drawing from her own experiences, she spoke about the dangers of marrying too early and the challenges that often follow, such as divorce and single parenthood.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Judy encouraged women to think carefully before committing to marriage, especially when pregnancy is involved. She explained that marrying solely because of pregnancy can lead to regret if one isn’t truly ready for the responsibilities that come with being a wife and mother.
According to her, mental and emotional readiness are key to sustaining a healthy marriage. She advised women to take time for personal growth — to date, understand people better, and build trust in themselves and in God before saying “I do.”
Judy emphasized that self-reliance, hard work, and emotional maturity go a long way in helping women make wiser relationship decisions. She noted that many young women who rush into marriage end up facing painful outcomes, including divorce or the heavy burden of raising children alone.
Reflecting on her own journey, Judy said many women have suffered silently from the pressures of early marriage, with some walking away after childbirth because they couldn’t cope.
Judy Austin, who became Yul Edochie’s second wife in April 2022, has three children with him. She was previously married, a union that ended in 2013.
