For the season’s penultimate eviction show, suave Big Brother Titans host – Ebuka-Obi Uchendu wears the Kemeje – an indigenous Itsekiri outfit with an interesting print wrapper, both from the luxurious African brand – Ugo Monye.
The Itsekiri are a Yoruboid subgroup of Nigeria’s Niger Delta, primarily residing in Delta State. They are originally from the Iwere Kingdom, also known as the Kingdom of Warri, which has a population of over 2.7 million people.
Itsekiri men traditionally wear a long-sleeved shirt called Kemeje, a George wrapper tied around their waist, and a one-feathered hat on their heads. Inspired by this, Ebuka paired his native shirt and fine print wrapper with rich native beads, despite foregoing the traditional hat.
