Egypt’s police arrested a blogger on child exploitation charges after she claimed on social media that her son and daughter were engaging in “indecent sexual acts” with each other.
According to local media, the mother is suspected of making the claim in order to attract more viewers to her blogs.
The public prosecutor’s office said in a statement that she had been arrested pending an investigation into allegations that she had “defamed” her children and put them in danger.
The video sparked outrage on social media, with users calling for the blogger’s arrest.
