Erling Haaland Named Premier League Player of the Month for September
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been crowned the Premier League’s Player of the Month for September 2025 after a brilliant run of form that reminded everyone why he’s one of football’s deadliest finishers.
The Norwegian star was unstoppable throughout the month, scoring five goals and providing an assist in just three league games. His strikes against Arsenal and Manchester United helped City regain momentum after a slow start to the season.
Speaking after receiving the award, Haaland expressed his excitement and gratitude:
“I’m really happy to win this award for the fourth time. It always means a lot, so thank you to everyone who voted for me. I also want to thank my teammates, the coaches, and all the staff — we do everything together.”
He added that September was a key month for City’s progress:
“We played some really good football, stayed unbeaten, and got important wins for our fans. I’m happy I could help with goals and performances. Now it’s about keeping that same energy after the international break and pushing for more wins.”
At just 25, Haaland continues to dominate the scoring charts with nine league goals, sitting comfortably ahead of Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Jaidon Anthony. Across all competitions, he’s already notched up 12 goals in nine appearances this season.
This latest honour marks his fourth Premier League Player of the Month award — placing him in elite company alongside legends like Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, and Frank Lampard. Only a handful of players in league history have achieved more.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner picked up the Manager of the Month award after guiding his team through an unbeaten September. Palace held Sunderland to a draw before earning impressive wins over West Ham United and defending champions Liverpool.
The achievement marks Palace’s first managerial award since Tony Pulis received the honour back in April 2014. Glasner edged out strong competition from Mikel Arteta, Pep Guardiola, and Régis Le Bris to claim the recognition.
