Today’s lovebirds, Esioh and Emeke, are the ones getting us giddy. It was a pepper soup date that started their lovely love tale, and it has been an exciting trip ever since.
They had been close friends since they were young and loved going to the same church. Then, when Emeke became unwell, Esioh prepared pepper soup for him. The foundation for their current love was laid by this cordial act. We are very thrilled for them that they may now live out the rest of their life together! Their engagement images are filled with love, and we know you will feel it as well.
Enjoy their pre-wedding photos and love story below.
How we met
By the bride, Esioh
Since 2010, Emeke has been my partner. We both worked in the ushering ministry at the same church. We used to gist, gossip, and pray together because we were close friends. You know those people who, while constantly yabbying at one another, have a deep regard for one another? Since we were dating other people at the time, our relationship at first was strictly limited to church events and infrequent phone calls. Despite these intentional boundaries, my ex-partner felt insecure and would accuse me and Emeke of having something we did not.
When Emeka and I were both singles in 2018, Bukky, a buddy of his, and I went on a casual hangout. We remained in contact after that. He would often tell me that he was ready to settle down with the baby whenever he started dating someone, but it never worked out. Even though I tried to match him up with several of my friends, he consistently declined. We would share our relationship and recovery experiences with one another (in all our stories, I was the hard guy, and he was the lover boy). He would jokingly suggest that he was the one who would marry me last since my hard girl was too much at times.
He saw me waiting for a bus home as he was stuck in traffic sometime in April 2021. I hopped in because it was a free ride, and he swiftly parked like I was paying him! We were chatting the entire way home when he revealed his most recent heartbreak, and I felt terrible for him. He boasted that while not providing any “philanthropic service,”, particularly to women, he would still meet me halfway as his guy. Too many details. “Oga! Just put me wherever,” I told myself.
Then came Covid-19. He became ill, and I went to see him and made pepper soup to improve his condition as a good Christian lady should. common pepper soup, o! I suppose God just started thinking about me after that day. He would always say, “Come and marry me, Esioh,” during every chat. How now? I yelled out in response to his question about going on dates. what reason? We are only buddies, so o, please. After all, my shakara, we began dating in late 2017 and are now engaged. He proposed to me in July.
Emeke has continuously been thoughtful of us from the beginning when we were just friends to the present when we are preparing our wedding. He affirms our goals for the future and helps me keep my eyes on God. For more than 11 years, we have been friends. There has not even been the slightest bit of regret. I’m grateful that he will grow old with me and that I get to be with him. I’ll adore you forever, I’m really excited to be Mrs. Nwokolo with Chukwuemeke Nwokolo.
