According to preliminary findings, a European Union observer mission criticized the lack of transparency and operational failures in the Nigerian election.
During the election preparations, it stated that there was trust in the electoral body’s independence and professionalism.
However, public trust has dwindled due to a lack of efficient planning and effective communication throughout the process, including on election day, according to observers.

On Saturday, Nigerians voted in a presidential and parliamentary general election.
Some polling stations opened late, and voting procedures were not always followed, according to observers.
They claimed that the results were not uploaded using an electronic system, raising concerns as the transmission of presidential election results forms was delayed.
The observer team has urged election stakeholders to maintain peace until the process is completed, and any disputes that arise should be resolved through legal channels.
