The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has unveiled its 2024 nominees, with Nollywood star and producer Femi Adebayo earning an impressive seven nominations. The announcement came during a press briefing held at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos.
The 20th edition of the prestigious awards, themed “Celebrating African Creativity,” is set to take place on November 2 at the Balmoral Hall in Sheraton, Ikeja. Organized in collaboration with the Lagos State Government, the event promises to spotlight the best of African filmmaking talent.
While the Nigerian film The Weekend, directed by Uche Okocha, topped the list with 16 nominations, Femi Adebayo’s Jagun Jagun made a strong showing with seven nods, showcasing the rising influence of African cinema on the global stage.
