Italian luxury fashion house Fendi, part of the LVMH group, has announced Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou as its new CEO, effective June 1. Angeloglou will take over from Serge Brunschwig, who has led Fendi for six years and will soon take on new responsibilities within LVMH, details of which are forthcoming.
Angeloglou currently serves as managing director of the LVMH Fashion Group, overseeing brands like Celine, Givenchy, Loewe, Kenzo, Marc Jacobs, Patou, Pucci, and Rossimoda.
LVMH confirmed the appointment in a press release, also noting the news was initially reported by Women’s Wear Daily (WWD).
In a statement, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault thanked Brunschwig for his significant contributions to Fendi’s growth since 2018. While LVMH rarely discloses the financial specifics of its 75 brands, Arnault highlighted Fendi’s ongoing success during the group’s annual results presentation in January.
Founded in Rome in 1925, Fendi is renowned for its luxury leather goods and fashion. The brand’s iconic double-F logo was created by Karl Lagerfeld, who joined Fendi as a young designer in 1965 and remained the artistic director until his passing in 2019. LVMH became Fendi’s majority shareholder in 2001.
