Geremi, a former Chelsea player, has initiated divorce proceedings upon discovering that the two children he raised were fathered by his wife’s previous partner.
According to reports from the Sun, the twins, born to Geremi’s wife, Laure, were conceived during her previous relationship, without Geremi’s knowledge.
Court documents from Cameroon outline the dissolution of their marriage, attributing the breakdown to Laure’s actions, which allegedly “destroyed the harmony” of their relationship due to her “abject behavior” and repeated dishonesty. The documents clarify that no children were born during their marriage.
The revelation has deeply affected Geremi, who played for Chelsea from 2003 to 2007, winning two Premier League titles. The 45-year-old midfielder, who also represented Real Madrid, Middlesbrough on loan, and Newcastle, has been emotionally shaken by his wife’s actions, describing them as causing significant psychological distress.
Throughout his illustrious career, Geremi earned over 100 caps for the Cameroon national team, winning the Africa Cup of Nations twice and securing an Olympic Gold Medal in 2000.
