The management of EIB Network, which owns GHOne Television, has clarified that their presenter, Serwaa Amihere, was not involved in any misconduct regarding a recently circulated video featuring her with a man identified as Henry Fitz.
The video, which quickly went viral on social media, sparked rumors that it was filmed in 2019 before Fitz’s marriage. In response, EIB Network pledged to conduct a private investigation into the video’s release and promised to share the findings.
EIB Network also acknowledged the criminal proceedings initiated by the Ghana Police Service against individuals accused of distributing the video.
In a press release dated July 5, 2024, EIB Network revealed the investigation’s results: “After a thorough and impartial investigation, the committee found no misconduct or breaches on the part of Serwaa Amihere concerning the video’s circulation.”
The statement further emphasized, “We remain committed to cooperating with authorities to ensure justice is served.”
Serwaa Amihere subsequently apologized for the incident. In April, the Ghana Police Service charged three individuals with sharing the intimate video of Serwaa Amihere.
In a statement shared on her X account on April 24, 2024, Serwaa apologized for the embarrassment the incident caused her family, employers, loved ones, and the businesses and brands she represents. She confirmed that the video was taken five years ago and explained that she had underestimated the extent of her influence and what she would come to represent in society.
Serwaa disclosed that the video was released after five months of threats and extortion, despite efforts by the police to apprehend the extortionists. She concluded by stating that she has learned valuable lessons from this unfortunate episode.
