On January 25, Gerard Piqué made his relationship with Clara Chia Marti Instagram official by posting a selfie with the 23-year-old. Gerard and Clara posed close together in matching black tops, with slight smiles to the camera, in the photo posted to his profile.
The couple’s social media debut comes after Shakira, who split from the soccer player in June 2022, appeared to shade Gerard and Clara in her latest single, “BZRP Music Session #53,” a collaboration with Argentine DJ Bizarrap.
“I wish you luck with my supposed replacement / I don’t even know what happened to you,” she sings in the song’s English translation. “You’re so strange I can’t tell you apart / I’m worth two of 22 [year old]/ You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo / You traded a Rolex for a Casio.”
Gerard and Shakira’s previous romance began in 2010 while they were filming her “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” music video. They made their relationship public in 2011 before welcoming sons Milan, 9, and Sasha, 7.

Almost a decade later, the couple announced their divorce.
“We regret to confirm that we are parting ways,” they said in a June 2022 joint statement to E! News. “We respectfully request that you respect the privacy of our children, who are our top priority. Thank you for your patience.”
Gerard confirmed his romance with Clara less than three months later when they were seen getting cozy together at a wedding in Catalonia, Spain, as seen in photos published by the Daily Mail in August 2022.
Shakira recently opened up about her and Gerard’s divorce, calling it “incredibly difficult.”
“It’s difficult to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it,” the 45-year-old said in September to Elle. “And because I’m in the public eye, and because our divorce isn’t like any other. As a result, it’s been difficult not only for me but also for my children.”
While Gerard has not publicly addressed their split since, he did appear to mock Shakira’s lyrics by declaring that he had a deal in place with Casio to sponsor his project King’s League, according to People. Despite Gerard’s assertion, Casio later issued a statement in which it denied “any agreement for this sponsorship or interest in making it happen.”
