During a courtesy visit to the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari II, at the Gbewah Palace in Yendi, John Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, underscored the critical need for a capable and transparent government to uplift the nation’s economy and improve the lives of its citizens.
He criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, accusing them of lacking innovative economic strategies due to their involvement in greed and corruption.
Mahama firmly believes that only the NDC, if reinstated in the 2024 general election, can instill hope and prosperity among the people. He urged citizens not to despair but instead to rally behind the NDC to break free from what he described as the government’s “shackles.”
Emphasizing the urgent need for change, Mahama highlighted the country’s current crisis and emphasized the imperative of rescuing it from the widespread incompetence, greed, and corruption exhibited by government officials.
He expressed dismay over the government’s failure to execute crucial projects like the Yendi water supply initiative since assuming office.
Mahama’s message resonates with many who seek effective governance and genuine progress for the nation. His visit to Dagbon symbolizes a commitment to engaging with local leaders and communities, demonstrating a proactive approach to addressing national issues and concerns.
