The popular comedian Basketmouth has urged Ghanaians to be more intentional about promoting their music stars if they want to see them succeed on a global scale.
Basketmouth, a well-known entertainer, stated that Nigerians were much more aggressive in their support of their favorite artists. He cited this as the primary reason Nigerian music has thrived over the years, both domestically and internationally.
The comedian acknowledged that Ghanaians are more relaxed when it comes to supporting their music stars, but he insisted that this must change if their artists are to succeed on the international stage.
“Ghana has a lot of great talent, but they aren’t getting the support they need to succeed.” Nigerians are more aggressive in promoting their own, which is why our music is doing so well.” He stated.
The comedian also encouraged Ghanaian musicians to be more proactive in promoting themselves and their music. He went on to say that Ghanaians possessed resources that Nigeria lacked.
He claimed that Ghana had superior event facilities and venues. He stated that Nigeria lacked in that area and advised Ghanaians to capitalize on it.
Ghanaians have developed a strong preference for Nigerian music over Ghanaian music.
