Gisele Bündchen is breaking her silence on her marriage to now-retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady, months after their divorce was announced. Vanity Fair published the candid interview on Wednesday.
According to Bündchen, “it’s like a death and a rebirth,” and she is now mourning “the death of my dream.”
“It’s tough because you imagine your life was going to be a certain way, and you did everything you could, you know?” she said before breaking down.
“You give your all to achieve your dream,” she told Vanity Fair. “You give your all, and it’s heartbreaking when things don’t turn out the way you hoped and worked for, but you can only do your part.”
“It’s like a death and a rebirth.” Gisele Bündchen is ready for her next act—and she’s got some big ideas.
In a VF exclusive, the supermodel discusses the end of her marriage, being “blindsided” by FTX, and pursuing la pura vida on her own terms.

Brady announced the end of their 13-year marriage on Instagram in October, saying they arrived “at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”
“The decision to end a marriage is never easy, but we have grown apart,” she wrote in a separate statement. “While it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always.”
Months after the announcement, Bündchen denied rumors that an alleged ultimatum — to choose between her and football — caused their split.
“You don’t put someone in jail and tell them, ‘You have to live this life,'” she told the magazine. “You let them be who they are, and if you want to fly in the same direction, that’s fantastic.”
Brady, however, took to Instagram after the interview was published with a seemingly cryptic message. He shared a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson about the definition of success.
“What exactly is success?” The quote begins. “To laugh frequently and a lot; to gain the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to gain the approval of honest critics and to bear the betrayal of false friends.”

According to the post, success is about finding “the best in others” and leaving the world “a little better.”
Bündchen has stated unequivocally that she has no ill will toward Brady.
“If there’s one person in the world I want to be the happiest for, it’s him,” she told the magazine. “I want him to succeed and to win. I want all of his wishes to come true.”
CBS News has reached out to Brady for comment and is waiting to hear back.
Brady discussed the divorce on his weekly podcast in November, saying he and his ex-wife have a “very amicable situation.”

While discussing the topic with his “Let’s Go” co-host and sportscaster Jim Gray, he mentioned that many people deal with “things that they deal with at work and things that they deal with at home.”
“Obviously, the good news is that it’s a very amicable situation,” he said. “I’m really focused on two things: taking care of my family, especially my children, and doing the best job I can to win football games.” “That’s what experts do.”
