The newly appointed manager of FC Barcelona, Hansi Flick, has revealed that one of the reasons why he joined the Spanish giants is because he and the club share the same vision. Flick, who spent most of his football career in Germany, began his managerial journey at Victoria Bammental in 1996. He went on to coach TSG Hoffenheim before returning to his former club, Bayern Munich, between 2019 and 2021.
During his tenure at Bayern Munich, Flick achieved remarkable success, boasting an 83 percent winning rate in all competitions and helping the team average 3.0 goals per game. Under his leadership, Bayern Munich secured their second treble in history, including victories in the UEFA Champions League and the Bundesliga.
Despite his achievements at Bayern Munich, Flick decided to leave the club for the German national team job, where he faced challenges and limited success. His tenure with the German national team culminated in their disappointing exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage, leading to his dismissal by the German FA in 2023.
However, FC Barcelona, who finished behind Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga title race, believes that Flick possesses the qualities needed to make a positive impact on the team next season. Flick has signed a two-year deal with Barcelona, keeping him at Camp Nou until June 30, 2026.
Speaking after finalizing the deal, Flick expressed his excitement, stating, “We share the same vision of possession and quality football. Barça has La Masia, one of the best academies in the world.”
