Pope Francis will be absent from the Angelus prayer this Sunday for the second consecutive week as he continues receiving hospital treatment for pneumonia, the Vatican announced.
Instead of being delivered in person, the text of the prayer will be published, just as it was the previous weekend, according to the Vatican press office.
The Pope was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli hospital on February 14 with bronchitis, which later progressed into pneumonia, sparking widespread concern.
Medical experts providing updates on his condition assured on Friday that there is no immediate risk to his life but emphasized that he remains in a delicate state.
A Vatican statement released Saturday morning simply noted: “Pope Francis rested well.”
