The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of registration for the 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), starting today, Monday, January 15, 2024, and concluding on February 24, 2024.
For those considering the ‘JAMB Direct Entry’ option, this is an alternative route for university admission that doesn’t require taking the UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination).
It’s essential to note that JAMB Direct Entry applications can only be made at JAMB offices. Additionally, individuals are not allowed to apply for both JAMB DE and UTME in the same calendar year.
To apply for JAMB Direct Entry, candidates must complete an online application form available on the JAMB portal. JAMB recognizes and accepts twelve qualifications/certificates, and a statement of result is valid for registration only within three years of the date of award.
Candidates seeking to upgrade from UTME to DE must meet specific criteria, including the non-release of DE results at the UTME registration point and indicating the expectation of A-level results during registration.
For the 2024/2025 session, the DE fee is set at N3,500, with additional charges such as N700 for the CBT Centre registration service charge, N1,500 for the CBT Centre service charge for mock/UTME, and N500 for bank charges/commission. The total amounts to N6,200 for those not participating in the MOCK examination, while those taking the MOCK examination will pay a total of N7,700.
National Identification Number (NIN) is a mandatory requirement for registration.
Payment can be made through various channels, including bank payment using the e-PIN generated on the JAMB portal, online payment through ATM card or USSD code on the JAMB portal, and POS payment at accredited CBT or JAMB offices.
To initiate the registration process, follow these steps:
