Renowned Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, famously known as Basketmouth, recently expressed his discomfort with being labeled a “great man.”
In a candid video shared on his Instagram, Basketmouth reflected on his desired legacy and the significance of living a fulfilling life.
He urged people to refrain from referring to him as a “great man,” citing a belief that individuals bestowed with such titles often meet untimely demises. Drawing parallels to icons like Michael Jackson, Kobe Bryant, Elvis Presley, Da Grin, and Mohbad, who passed away prematurely, Basketmouth emphasized his preference not to be labeled as such during his lifetime.
Additionally, the comedian unveiled his new appearance, having shaved off his beard for the first time in over two decades, attributing the change to an upcoming movie role.
In a related development, Yoruba Nollywood actress, Bimpe Akintunde, also known as Wasila Coded, shed light on the challenges faced by single parents, particularly women, in a recent interview.
Addressing the struggles of single parenting, Akintunde stressed the emotional toll it takes on women, describing it as a circumstance that “kills women faster.”
She urged men to take responsibility for their actions and support women they impregnate, emphasizing that single motherhood is not a situation anyone desires.
Furthermore, Akintunde highlighted the disparity between her on-screen persona as Wasila Coded and her real-life demeanor, noting that people often misconstrue her friendly nature for her roles in movies. She clarified that her calm and approachable demeanor reflects her true identity as Bimpe Akintunde, distinct from the characters she portrays on screen.
