Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has cleared the air on rumours suggesting she once dated fellow superstar Wizkid.
The singer recently opened up about a past relationship with a well-known figure, revealing that the romance had been kept completely under wraps. Speaking on The JMatt Show, Tiwa explained that the man — who was also in the spotlight — insisted they act like strangers in public.
At first, she agreed to the secrecy, but the arrangement soon became uncomfortable. She described how he would mingle freely with others in her presence while expecting her to stay silent, all in an effort to hide their connection. According to Tiwa, the staged behaviour and constant need for cover-ups eventually made the relationship difficult to handle.
Her revelations quickly fueled speculation online, with many assuming she was referring to Wizkid, given the long-standing rumours surrounding the two.
But in a fresh interview on The Breakfast Club, Tiwa set the record straight.
“Shoutout to Wizkid. I love and respect him, but he isn’t the one I was referring to. I said the person was a public figure, but it’s not him,” she clarified.
With that, Tiwa put an end to the buzz, reminding fans that while she shares a bond with Wizkid, he was never the mystery man behind her story.
