The 2024 presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has reassured Ghanaians of his unwavering commitment to fulfilling all the promises he made during his campaign, should he be elected as President in the upcoming 2024 general election.
Mahama emphasized pledges such as government downsizing, the cessation of ex gratia payments, and the abandonment of the e-levy initiative.
Speaking at the conclusion of the 2024 NDC Policy Dialogue in Peduase, Eastern Region, he stated, “I am fully dedicated to fulfilling the promises I have made and intend to honor them.”
He highlighted policy initiatives like the ’24-hour economy’ and the ‘Digital Jobs Initiative’ as practical strategies that could significantly enhance the country’s fortunes, particularly its economy.
“Since 2021, I have outlined over 60 distinct policy proposals aimed at revitalizing our economy and improving our national well-being,” he affirmed.
Mahama described the ’24-hour Economy’ as a well-researched policy with the potential to revolutionize the country’s economic trajectory.
He asserted that the 24-hour economy could be the most effective means to achieve substantial economic growth, enhance productivity, meet demand, reduce excessive imports, mitigate negative impacts on the economy and currency, and most importantly, create high-paying jobs for the unemployed population.
Furthermore, Mahama accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of disseminating misinformation to undermine the policy’s credibility.
