The 2024 presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has reassured Ghanaians of his unwavering commitment to fulfill all the promises he made during his campaign if elected as President in the upcoming 2024 general election.
Mahama emphasized pledges such as streamlining the government, eliminating ex gratia, and scrapping the e-levy. Speaking at the conclusion of the 2024 NDC Policy Dialogue in Peduase, Eastern Region, he stated, “I am fully dedicated to fulfilling the promises I have made and intend to uphold them.”
He highlighted his policy proposals like the ’24-hour economy’ and ‘Digital Jobs Initiative’ as practical measures that would significantly enhance the country’s prospects, particularly in the economic domain.
“Since 2021, I have presented over 60 distinct policy proposals, meticulously designed to revive our economy and overall national well-being,” he remarked.
Mahama portrayed his widely acclaimed ’24-hour Economy’ as a meticulously researched policy and a transformative initiative that could propel the country towards economic prosperity.
He asserted that the 24-hour economy stood as perhaps the most viable means to achieve substantial economic growth, enhance productivity, meet demand, reduce excessive imports, mitigate adverse effects on the economy and currency, and importantly, create lucrative employment opportunities for the unemployed populace.
Mahama criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for disseminating misinformation in an effort to undermine the policy.
