David Adeleke aka Davido, a Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, has revealed that he prays before going on stage to perform.
Davido made this revelation in a Forbes feature publication, where he discussed the magazine’s latest edition of Afrobeats All-Star: Pioneering The New Global Sound.
The 30BG crooner told the publication that his crew is well aware of his habit of praying to God before performing on stage.
Davido credited his billionaire father, Mr. Adedeji Adeleke, with teaching him a lot about Christianity and living a simple life.
He stated that observing his father at work, listening to him on the phone, and witnessing his approach to life provided him with significant insights. Davido stated:
“I learned so much from being around my father, watching him at work, hearing him on the phone, and seeing how he handled life.” He is a devout Christian who is humble and principled. My team knows not to mess with my prayers before I step onto any stage.”
