Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has pledged to prioritize faith-based organizations if he emerges victorious in the 2024 general elections.
He highlighted the invaluable contributions of faith-based groups, including churches and Islamic institutions, in erecting schools and hospitals across the nation.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized that these organizations have surpassed many external development partners in their support for Ghana’s development and deserve recognition as integral partners in progress.
During a breakfast meeting with clergy and Imams in the Eastern Region at Akropong to kickstart his nationwide campaign tour, Dr. Bawumia expressed his commitment to offering significant incentives to faith-based organizations to collaborate with the government.
He underscored that while external development partners receive various incentives like duty-free imports, their impact pales in comparison to the substantial contributions made by faith-based groups.
Dr. Bawumia aims to foster a “golden age” of collaboration between the government and faith-based organizations by providing them incentives to aid government initiatives.
